She completed her training at Columbia University and Stamford Hospital, a Columbia affiliate, where she served as chief resident in Family Medicine, assuming many administrative and teaching roles. She is quite talented and is honored to be able to treat patients of all ages, and, whenever possible, the entire family unit. Your family’s wellness is her number one priority, from youngest to oldest.

First and foremost, she practices traditional family medicine and will treat your entire family; your children (camp physicals, well child checks, sick visits, immunizations, etc.), your teens (counseling, gyn examinations, athletic injuries/sports physicals, etc.), all parents (diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, breast cancer, bone density, prostate, etc.), and grandparents (fall precautions, chronic pain, cancer screening, etc.).

IMG_0169Dr. Saukin is also formally trained in integrative holistic medicine, nutrition, and weight loss and offers them as options for children as well as adults. She offers integrative medicine and alternative customized treatment options for your children enabling patients to achieve personal wellness goals, from weight loss to homeopathic remedies for certain disease processes. As one of the only board certified family physician “holistic health care coaches” in the United States she takes pride in herself working alongside her patients from pediatric to geriatric guiding them to their individual healthcare goals. The Wellness Center  has brochures on all of these ancillary treatment approaches.

She practices with the belief that, when possible, “Your Family – Your Doctor” allows for unique coordinated healthcare with added attention to individual unique circumstances. Whether the goal is allergy management for a child, childhood asthma, improved performance (as an elite or recreational athlete), dietary management (celiac disease, etc.), blood pressure treatment, cholesterol management, infertility, weight loss, or stress management, Dr. Saukin herself works with you every step of the way. She considers it a privilege to be able to treat the family unit and enjoys participating in the life events of her patients. This enables her to ensure thorough treatment.   Your Family – Your Doctor.

As a retired national competitive figure skater and former college track athlete, Dr. Saukin is proficient in treating injuries, analyzing training regimens, and is very familiar with the pressures young women/teens and athletes typically face. These include, but are not limited to, psychosocial issues, eating disorders, rehabilitation programs, and muscle memory (Athletic Performance).  She has added interest in working with local sports teams to review training regimens and to provide dietary review (Press).

She speaks both conversational Spanish and Russian, is on the attending physician staff of Richmond University Medical Center and is a proud member of the ABFM (American Board of Family Medicine), the AAFP (the American Academy of Family Physicians), the AMA (the American Medical Association), the AFP (the Academy of Family Physicians), the RCMS (Richmond County Medical Society), and the MSSNY (young leaders division of the Medical Society of the State of NY).

She holds Staten Island dear to her heart, advocating for various environmental causes and neighborhood associations.
